Okay. I know I should have posted my Taiwan trip long ago. But oh well. Here it is.

Okay. Er. I don't know why they use Disney characters on Changi Aiport Terminal 3. We don't even have Disneyland here.

So pretty - the clouds

We touched down at Khaosiong. And on the first night market we see Mr Chen here... On a dustbin.. Hur.

This pagoda thingy where you go in from the dragon's mouth and out from the lion's. No one does otherwise.

Some pretty scenery. Can't remember the name of the place heh.

Lighthouse. I'm good with phototaking. HOHO.

Anyone wanna hire me?

Day 3 At some street market. Notice the chinese words "coffin". It's actually a delicacy called coffin bread. Weird name huh. It DOES look like one. Inside is melty buttery-kaya-thingy.

Arrived at Salt Mountain. Used to be a dumping ground for salt, until the government realise low comparative advatage in manufacturing - mostly salt is imported to Taiwan.

The wind was freaking cold here. My cheek stung. Oh and they sell Salty Coffee at this tourist spot. Unique taste, my take that is.

Aboard the train ride.

Station masters waving along as the train past.

Next day. DOGGIE!! SO cute right. There were countless dogs roaming the streets.

We were staying at some hotel situated in the mountains. It was only like 14degress. But I felt really cold. The fun thing was wisps of vapour come out when you talk which is soo COOL!

Visting the temple which collapsed under the ground after the major quake in Taiwan.

Sun Moon Lake

It was sooo gorgeous! I wished we had more time there though.

One of the temples. Go in by the right, come out from the left.

DIY bakery. We made our own Sun Biscuits. The chef say mine was the best. HOHOHO.

On top Taipei 101. Highest building in the world. At least for now. I'm also soo tall. Haha.

At Yangmingshan.

Look!! Maple leaves!

Why can't maple trees grown in Singapore. Sigh.

Yangminshan from afar.

Oh this is somewhere near.. Call erm. Uh. Nevermind.

This is soo high. FYI: Taipei 101 is only 500 over meters.

The climb was absolutely dreadful. The steps were slippery and un-solidy

Still. The scenery makes it worth it. Almost.

Sulphur coming out.

Oh. We are soo not up there. This stop is only like. 0.4km out of a total 1.2km hike. We stopped here. Lack of time and out of breath. The way down was worse, I would have fall all the way down due to moss on the slippery steps if mum hadn't grasp my hand.

Another street market. The mochi here is the ultimate famous in Taiwan.

View from the second story shelter.

This is at some Geology Park. It was like #%^TY()#@$T*( hot and I was wearing the thick Gap pullover. Smart.

The famous Queen's Head.

My dad said this looks like a camel head. Can you see it?

And then he say this looks like a gorilla wedge between the rocks.

Odd looking formations.

Oh. This is at Lover's Bridge. Apparently dramas like to be filmed in this area.

Take a picture anywhere, and hills make the background.

Alot of artist offer to draw lovers here too. How fitting.

An another night market. Same ol same ol.

But wait a minute, what's this queue for??

It's the ever famous Shilin Fried Chicken Cutlet. And it WAS UBER AWESOME. I was munching away happily. $2.50 only you know! For such a big piece. Where can you find this price in Sg?! Pfft.

Tour Group photo. The scene was unusal, behind us were demonstrators setting up their stuff to protest. Further down were Tibetan refugees, pleading the Taiwan government to take them in.

My parents went up this thingy though I wilingly stayed down - I sprained my ankle when I climbed the mountain earlier on.

This place was next - I think its the place where ashes of soldiers are laid to rest.

Guards changing shift draws large crowds. Guards on duty are to stand in the sweltering heat in full armour, and not to move a single inch. For 3 hours. So they had "caretakers" to spray them with water once in a while, prevent heat stroke I guess.

This is apparently a restaurant. Yeah believe it.

With a lake thingy and boat and statues adorning the place.

Entrance to the restaurant

How it looks from the outside.

The famous Ximending. Supposedly good meesua. But I hate it. Pig intestines inside. Bah.

Bullet train back to Khaosiong from Taipei.

Went to fifth largest mall in Asia, Dream Mall.

Art outside the bookstore.

Yeah. The ferris wheel is on the roof of the mall.
And that concludes the tour, with us taking the plane back to Singapore the next morning.
And so we left Taiwan feeling happy and satisfied. I'm going to miss the cool wind there and the scenery and the food and the lower prices and and...

Nah. It's good to be back. =)

Ps: I finally FINALLY finish this mega post worth 3 hours of my time. You can tell elaboration is pha-tooey. If you wanna know more- well, I'll be happy to blab to you more of Taiwan =)
